I feel like I need to try to set the tone for my new blog. My original thought was to dedicate a post to sort out two categories: Things My Blog Will Talk About, and Things it Will Not. Well that could go on and on and on, and pigeon hole me a little, so I decided to do one of these 'getting to know you' surveys. I used to waste colossal amounts of time filling these things out on MySpace back in the day when I didn't want to study, but needed to keep busy to avoid the guilt. So, here we go. Oh, and I didn't even read these questions first. I just googled 'getting to know you survey' so I apologize if they're incredibly dumb.

1. What time did you go to bed last night and were you alone? 10ish and yes. I almost always go to bed before Jon.

2. If you could be given ANY gift what would it be? Another child someday...but let's be real. I'd gladly accept millions of dollars.

3. What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you and why? We went to see 42 on Saturday. It was pretty moving, I cried a few times, but that doesn't take much. It made me realize how disturbing it is that our country was so close-minded not that long ago. It also makes me more aware that some people are just as close-minded as they were then, only now it's other issues instead of racism.

4. What is your favorite TV show of all time i.e. you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it?  Easy. Friends.

5. Whats your favorite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do? Before the alarm, so I can stretch and relax before jumping out of bed.

6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name? I'm really okay with the name my parents gave me.

7. If you had to do a bushtucker challenge (you have to eat insects/grubs etc) what would be the worst thing you had to eat? (I am so thankful for the parenthesis here, I had no idea what that word was) Um, basically anything that is an insect would horrify me to eat, but definitely crickets would be the worst. I might rather die.

8. Whats the worst/most embarrassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it?I have no idea. I never buy music, so it was probably a tape it was that long ago.

9. What would be your dream vehicle (bikes, cars, boats, batcar and millenium falcon is allowed!)? Oh, I'm easy to please. Just give me a new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.

10. Whats your favorite sandwhich? Subway, 6in honey oat, ham, cheese, spinach, tomato, black olives and lite mayo.

11. What characteristics do you dislike in yourself? I'm going to only name character flaws, as this did not mention physical attributes. I am a control freak. I'm too controlling to really even dislike that about myself. Also, I have a nasty temper. And I put too much responsibility on myself sometimes and won't ask for help.

12. Your favorite item of clothing and why?A good pair of jeans. Currently my Gap skinnies are my favorite, but that's because they're one of 2 pair that don't sag and look like poo at the end of the day.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with?
I would go to Hawaii with my entire family. My parents, Mike's family, Michelle's family, Jon & Rylee of course, Jon's parents and his brother and sister's families.

14. If you could have any animal/creature, What would be your ultimate pet be? One that can't mess up your house or make a mess, or require a lot of attention. Suggestions?

15. What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be?When I was really little, like maybe four or five, my mom says I would tell her I was going to be a pediatrician. It's safe to say that I will not become one.

16. Whats the next planned event you're looking to in your life? SUMMER BREAK. I will still work during the summer, with cheer, but mostly my days will be mine and Rylee's to spend how we wish.

17. What were you doing before you started this? Unpacking the car and putting Ry girl down for a nappy.

18. What was the last thing you ate that you really shouldn't of ? Friday I ate a Reese's cup. The other half is still in my refrigerator at school.

19. If you were an ice cream/haagen daz/ben an jerrys flavor what would you be? A tasty one. I don't know! This question is dumb.

20. Who was the last person you spoke to that you didn't want to talk to? I honestly am not sure? Maybe a student? I usually don't mind them either though.

21. What was your favorite toy as a child  . . .and now?  I really liked my baby dolls as a child, but not to the point that I was one of those kids that took them everywhere. Now, my phone, I guess. But really I use it more to manage my life than as a toy.

22. When was the last time you cried laughing and why? The K Mart "I shipped my pants" commercial. Watch it, then watch it again. You're welcome.

23. What is stashed under your bed/mattress? a few storage bins full of stuff from HS that my parents forced me to take from their house.

24. What did you dream about last night? I was watching a weird movie.

25. What are you really afraid of? Something awful happening to someone I love. Like really awful, not like 'oh, you slipped and skinned your knee' but really awful. I'm terrified of it and worry constantly. I'm just kind of a worrier.

Well there ya have it. Me in 25 questions!

Well hello there, friends!

I've decided I'm bringin' blogging back, or at least I'm going to give it another try. What prompted this, you ask? Well I'll go ahead and outline it for you in no particular order:

A. I read blogs. I don't have time for books, and barely magazines these days, but these entertain me. They're funny, real, and even inspirational. My favorites are Enjoying the Small Things which I've been following for a few years. Kelle is a super mom who shares my love of soaking up the good stuff out of life. I'm also a fan of Mama Laughlin, whom I found on Pinterest, duh. Through her page I found Where We Can Live Like Jack and Sally , Big Holly is funny and real, and I'm fairly certain I would be her friend if I actually knew her. Technically I found her blog through her husband who has a blog/designs blogs/makes fun of blogs; he's funny. Also from Pinterest, I found Kate at  The Small Things Blog. She has the cutest hair ever. There are a few others I may pop over to if I have time, or am capable of staying up past 10 p.m.

B. I love to write. I went to college to study journalism, because I love to write (However I really knew I'd never work in that field, but that's another story for another day). Some people say I'm even pretty good at it, so I feel like I shouldn't waste that kind of talent.* They say 'those that can, do. those that can't, teach' those fools don't know what they're talkin' about. I could 'do' writing, but teaching is my calling. *I feel I must add that I am totally joking, so that no one is super disappointed that this isn't NY Times Best Seller literature.

C. I might be becoming one of those people who over-document their lives. I take no less than three dozen pictures of my child daily. I keep a journal. I facebook and instagram so that I can reflect on my posts later. I constantly find myself taking mental images of moments and thinking "Did ya get that, God? I want to make sure this makes the highlight reel."  I'm also borderline obsessive. And not a self-diagnoser at all.

D.? 4? whatever--- I used to have a blog. It was actually a Xanga, and one time someone called it a blog and I had to look up that word. I was 19, don't judge. I posted in that sucker every day, but somehow I either got much more boring, or a much busier life because it got pushed aside permanently. I also had Not So Newlywed ...well my last post in there was probably two years ago and that name doesn't fit anymore. It was going to be about all the funny and exciting things that happened to us in our early married years, but then I started to think that was stupid. Now I don't know.

The blogs I read are mainly about the every-day lives of the writers. I thought that if I were to write about those things, no one would ever want to read my blog, but I'm hoping that won't be true. After all, I read blogs like that and quite enjoy them. I guess we'll see.
